35.00 Sold Out

A step-by-step workshop for curious minds, inviting an intuitive approach to creativity, by learning from nature.

Join artist and designer Greta D. Facchinato in an experimental workshop to learn more about wild picking and how to make color from nature/our surroundings. The goal is to learn how to make sustainable, natural inks and how to apply them to screen-printing, painting, and drawing techniques on paper and textiles. Participants will receive botanical information and awareness about the beautiful alchemical potential it's released when collaborating with nature.

Which activities the workshop consists of:
We will explore the basics of natural ink-making. The lesson will consist of an introduction to water-based inks, where we will look at an assortment of ingredients that can be foraged in our landscape. We will discuss processing hues for best results and we will test a few natural inks recipes, by using readily available plants and kitchen waste collected by the artist. Topics about light and colorfastness, the longevity of natural color as well as proper storage for your ink will also be covered.
